With the Designer aiding him in his plan, it appears that the Riddler hasn't quite given up on his old plans to build a truly magnificent criminal plan. As he uses his tech to conquer the city, this Riddler is also driven by the desire to prove himself as the greatest of all his previous incarnations. The actor was tapped to play the character in Schumacher’s Batman Forever. Within his lair, Harley Quinn and Catwoman were attacked by brainwashed members of Gotham Police which could be an indication of his plan. Just as Jim Carrey's Riddler wanted to use his machine to entrap all of Gotham City, this Riddler has hinted at the use of some form of a "technological labyrinth" to end any opposition to his proposed reign. While another villain's plan directly targets Batman's greatest asset, the Riddler's description of his plan has indicated his desire to attack all of Gotham. The underrated, mid-to-late-2000s animated series, The Batman, has a much darker version of The Riddler, with the mere fact that he is voiced by iconic horror movie actor Robert Englund. It would seem that the Riddler feels that his most recent transformation, who was unlimited information on Gotham, could be the key to unlocking the version of himself that could be the ultimate victor. He was surrounded by a stellar cast of 90s heavyweights, including Nicole Kidman, Tommy Lee Jones, and Carrey. As revealed in a flashback, the Riddler was introduced to the Designer who promised to help him achieve his ultimate vision. The Designer wanted to help four of Gotham's biggest criminals in finding the version of themselves that could beat Batman and finally win. After an exhausting search, Val Kilmer was chosen to be the next Batman. At the same time, this Riddler is also facing his own identity crisis. With the release of the latest Batman flick, and a new iteration of The Riddler, former Edward Nigma himself, Jim Carrey, chimed in on the latest performance.
